Koutaba commune faces a big lack of drinking water. Indeed, the urban area of Koutaba is not covered by the public water network. As a result, populations feed from a few hydraulic structures, some of which are abandoned or non-functional and for which no monitoring and control is ensured.
People, especially children, travel long distances in search of drinking water and expose themselves to waterborne diseases such as typhoid, cholera, etc.
The population suffers financially from medical expenses in particular and is a brake on the economic development of Koutaba.
It is in this context that the Association for the Development of Human Resources, a Cameroonian organization and the Safe Water Cube endowment fund team up to raise funds to allow children and their families to have access to clean water.
The project involves the installation of 6 Safe Water Cube fountains in schools and the socio-cultural center of Koutaba city to allow 2887 children to have access to drinking water and thus prevent the proliferation of diseases due to poor quality of water.
This project focuses on the following three points: WATER, HEALTH and SOCIAL
